A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY FROM A PORTION OF K.S.A. 15-209 RELATING TO THE QUALIFICATION OF THE CITY CLERK

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF GAS, KANSAS:

Section 1. The City of Gas, Kansas, by the power vested in it under Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby elects to exempt itself and make inapplicable to it, the provisions of K.S.A. 15-209 insofar as said statute may require that a city clerk, be a qualified elector of said city.

Section 2. The city clerk of the City of Gas, Kansas, need not be a qualified elector of the City of Gas, Kansas, and may reside outside of the city limits of Gas. City Clerk shall reside within Allen County and be a qualified elector of Allen County.
